Moda Preview: Scantilly SS16, by Curvy Kate

I recently visited Moda in Birmingham, where I was lucky enough to preview lots of the new collections coming for SS16. I’m going to be previewing them all, but I thought I’d start out with one of my favourite collections of the season, Scantilly! Scantilly is described as being “Curvy Kate’s naughtier friend”, and is designed to be a boudoir-wear collection for fuller busts. All sets are available in 30-38 DD-HH, S-XL, and this collection (Scantilly SS16) will be released this November, a month after the AW15 pieces (now available at Brastop).

The first new style for SS16 is the beautiful Invitation, an incredibly daring true half-cup, which cuts horizontally across the apex of the bra to give a peek-a-boo effect. There is a matching suspender belt, the standard brief with sheer back panels and small cut-outs at the front, and (my favourite) the Bare Face brief, which features a cut-away back. I love the combination of the soft pink and striking black satin used for this set, and the overlaying black lace gives the set such a luxurious feel.

The next set is the Peek-a-boo in Red. This set is available for AW15 in Black, and I’m just not sure which colour I like more! Again, this set is available with a suspender belt and a stunning bare face brief. I love the sleek sexiness of this set – the satin, cut-outs and clean lines give it a very sophisticated vibe, without losing any of its bedroom appeal.

Finally, Surrender, a gorgeous piece comprised of sheer black mesh, satin piping details, feather-esque trims and swirls of embroidery. Available as both a basque and bra, this is an unpadded balconette style with a slightly lower neckline. The cups ending slightly lower allows the addition of a strappy harness detailing above the cups, making this one of the first strappy full-bust pieces available! The basque has four suspender straps, and there is a standard thong brief available, along with a peep hole brief (first picture). The peep hole brief features a slit down the back, held together with a small satin bow.

Overall I just adore this collection. I very often skip buying the matching knickers for my bras, but for Scantilly I think I would have to get every single piece (which is saying something coming from me)! The only thing I am disappointed about is the DD-HH size range, which means us J+ girls won’t be able to get in on the action. However, for a collection of this sort, I think it’s a fantastic size range to start with, and I am hopeful that Scantilly will expand to J-K cups in due course.

What do you think of Scantilly? Would you try her out, and if so, which set is your favourite? Let me know any thoughts in the comments below!
