Today is going to be my last day of AW16 previews, and the last set of brands to cover is the Wacoal Eveden group! Wacoal Eveden produce some of the best known brands in the lingerie world, managing Fantasie, Freya, Huit, Wacoal, b.tempt’d, Elomi and Goddess. I’ll be sticking to the full-bust brands, starting with Freya! The Freya AW16 collection primarily features shades of electric and navy blue, lime yellow, orchid purple and chilli red.
Freya Pin Up Padded Strapless Bustier in Black (28 D-G, 30 D-GG, 32-36 C-GG, 38 D-G) ; Freya Pin Up Padded Half Cup Bra in Black (28 D-GG, 30 D-H, 32-36 C-H, 38 C-G) ; Freya Pin Up High Waist Brief in Black (XS-XXL)
One of my favourite styles of the collection, the Pin Up! This is an incredibly gorgeous retro style, featuring a leopard print base with lime yellow highlights, black satin piping and panelling. This is available in a very 50s strapless bustier style, as well as a slightly more modern padded half-cup style if that’s not your thing.
Freya Deco Charm Moulded Bra in Chartreuse (28-30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, 38 B-G) ; Freya Fancies Plunge Bra in Lime Punch (28-30 D-G, 32-38 C-G) ; Freya Candid Longline Bra in White (28-30 D-G, 32-38 C-G; Also available as a Plunge Balcony and Balcony) ; Freya Pulse Plunge Balcony Bra in Dark Orchid (28-30 D-J, 32-36 C-J, 38 D-J) ; Freya Deco Delight in Charcoal (28-30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, 38 B-G)
Lime yellow and orchid purple are strong colours for this collection, particularly when combined, as shown in the Deco Charm, Freya Fancies, Candid, Pulse, and Deco Delight. One exciting thing about this season is the new additions to the coordinating Freya Fancies line! Whilst previously, the Freya Fancies range included a bralette, chemise and two kinds of briefs, this season will actually include an underwired plunge bra (shown above, picture 2), an underwired longline bra, and a suspender belt (both shown further down the page). Not all styles are available in every colourway, with the lime colourway shown above available as a bralette, underwired plunge and longline bra, chemise, hipster short and brazilian. One thing I love about the Freya Fancies plunge style is that it seems to be based on the Freya Minx frame, featuring a stunning gate back and peephole on the gore.
Freya Popart Cami Top in Mix (XS-L) ; Freya Popart Plunge Balcony Bra (left; 28-38 D-G) and Padded Half Cup Bra (right; 28 D-GG, 30 D-H, 32-36 B-H, 38 B-G) in Mix ; Freya Fancies Longline Bra in Chilli Red (28 D-GG, 30 D-H, 32-36 B-H, 38 B-G) ; Freya Hero in Chilli Red (28-38 D-G; Balcony Bra also available in 28 GG-J, 30-36 GG-K, 38 GG-J) ; Freya Idol Moulded Balcony Bra in Racing Red (28 D-H, 30 D-HH, 32-34 B-HH, 36 B-H, 38 B-G) ; Freya Paradise Plunge Balcony in Black (pictures 6-7, available in 28-30 D-G, 32-38 C-G; Balcony Bra also available in 28 GG-J, 30-36 GG-K, 38 GG-J) ; Freya Paradise Padded Half Cup in Black (pictures 8-9, available in 30 D-H, 32-38 B-H)
Another strong shade for this season is chill red, used throughout the Popart, Freya Fancies, Hero, Idol and Paradise styles. In this case, all of the Freya Fancies styles will be available in this chilli red shade. I personally love these new options – I don’t think matching suspender belts can ever be a bad thing! I also really love the Paradise styles shown last, particularly the plunge style – the contrasting gate back and peekhole details on the gore are to die for!
Freya Fancies Brazilian in Electric Blue (XS-L) ; Freya Tempo Balcony Bra in Electric Blue (28 D-HH, 30 C-HH, 32-38 B-HH) ; Freya Idol Moulded Balcony Bra in Teal (28 D-H, 30 D-HH, 32-34 B-HH, 36 B-H, 38 B-G) ; Freya Pulse in Black (pictures 4-5; 28-30 D-J, 32-36 C-J, 38 D-J) ; Freya Fancies Bralette in Navy (XS-XL)
We also see shades of electric and navy blue, used here in the Freya Fancies, Tempo, Idol and Pulse. For the Freya Fancies range, both the electric blue and navy blue colourways will be available in the bralette and brazilian brief styles, while the navy blue colourway will also be available in the underwired plunge. I absolutely adore the new Pulse style, a sheer plunge featuring subtle trellis embroidery on the mesh, and EKG-esque embroidery trimming the cups. This is apparently a remake of the infamous classic Arabella, which frustrated many people with its use of an opaque lining in higher cup sizes. However, this will no longer be the case, with the Pulse remaining sheer in all sizes – yes!
Freya Willow Plunge Bra in Palm (28-30 D-H, 32-38 B-H) ; Freya Deco Vibe Moulded Plunge in Kelly Green (28-30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, 38 B-G)
There are some pops of kelly green, used here in the earthy Willow and the bold, retro-esque Deco Vibe. As always, I am really happy to see more green lingerie, and I think this leopard print trimmed piece is a fun way to go.
Freya Muse Spacer Moulded Bra in Dove (28 D-G, 30-36 D-GG, 38 D-G) ; Freya Nova Plunge Balcony in Black (28-38 D-G; Balcony Bra also available in 28 GG-J, 30-36 GG-K, 38 GG-J) ; Freya Hero in White (28-38 D-G; Balcony Bra also available in 28 GG-J, 30-36 GG-K, 38 GG-J) ; Freya Idol Moulded Balcony Bra in White (28 D-H, 30 D-HH, 32-34 B-HH, 36 B-H, 38 B-G) ; Freya Fancies Longline Bra in White (28 D-GG, 30 D-H, 32-36 B-H, 38 B-G)
Neutral grey and white are popular for this season, shown here in the Muse, Nova, Hero, Idol and Freya Fancies lines. I love grey as a neutral shade, so both the Muse and Deco Delight (shown further up the page) are definitely up my street! I’m also quite interested in the Nova, which appears to be a patterned version of the popular Hero style. It features an abstract butterfly print in shades of black, white and grey with highlights of baby pink, which I think is really lovely. Finally, we have the continuity white colourway for the Freya Fancies line, which is available in all of the styles in the line.
Freya Freya Fancies Plunge Bra in Petal (28-30 D-G, 32-38 C-G) ; Freya Muse Spacer Moulded Bra in Sand (28 D-G, 30-36 D-GG, 38 D-G) ; Freya Mode Padded Half Cup Bra in Sand (2 B-G8 D-GG, 30 D-H, 32-36 B-H, 38) ; Freya Mode Short in Black (XS-XL) ; Freya Zen Balcony in Black (28-30 D-GG, 32-36 C-GG, 38 D-GG) ; Freya Fancies Plunge Bra in Black (28-30 D-G, 32-38 C-G)
There are various new neutral pieces in the Freya Fancies, Muse, Mode and Zen. The Freya Fancies line will have a new continuity colourway of soft pink, which will be available in the bralette, underwired plunge and brazilian brief styles. Like the white colourway, the continuity colourway of black will be available in all of the cuts in the line. The Mode is another new basic style in black and beige, featuring a striped base and lace edging along the seams and cup edges.
Freya Pandora Vertical Seam Babydoll in Noir (28-38 D-G; Vertical Seam Bra is also available in 30 D-G, 32-36 C-G, 38 C-FF) ; Freya Pandora Longline Plunge Bra in Noir (28-30 D-G, 32-36 C-G, 38 D-G; Plunge Bra also available in 28-30 D-H, 32-36 C-H, 38 D-H)
Finally, one piece which ties many of the core colours of this season together, the Pandora. I believe this is the first non-Deco based babydoll I have seen from Freya, instead using a vertically seamed bra base, which I personally think is really lovely! I love the bright, embroidered floral over the black base – I think it’s a really striking combination.
Freya Active Moulded Sports Bra in Lime/Blue ; Freya Active Crop Top Sports Bra in Grey/Blue (picture 2, centre) ; Freya Active Soft Cup Sports Bra in Grey/Blue (pictures 2-3)
There are two new colourways for the Freya Active range, again using some of this season’s core colours of lime yellow, light blue and grey. I didn’t get a catalogue for this range so, unfortunately, I don’t have the names and size ranges for all of these pieces. The above photos include the Moulded Sports Bra, Crop Top Sports Bra and the Soft Cup Sports Bra, as well as a wrap-front sports bra which I am not familiar with.
I also got a chance to look through the Freya Swim collection! The Freya Swim AW16 collection uses many similar colours to the main collection, featuring shades of chilli red, coral pink, navy and green.
Freya Swim Remix Sculpt Frilled Swimsuit in Insanely Red (30-38 C-F) , Deco Swim Moulded Multiway Bandeau and Tie Side Brief in Insanely Red (28 D-G, 30-36 D-GG, 38 D-G & XS-XL) ; Freya Swim Horizon Sweetheart Padded Bikini and Short in Hot Coral (30-36 D-H, 38 D-G & XS-XL; Twist Front Bandeau also available in 30-36 C-G) ; Freya Swim Coral Bay Bandeau Bikini and Brief in Sunset (30-36 C-G & XS-XL; Convertible Halter Bikini in 28 D-G, 30-36 D-J, 38 D-G)
First up are shades of red and pink, shown here in the Remix, Deco Swim, Horizon, and Coral Bay.
Freya Swim Party Animal Banded Halter Bikini and Brief (28-30 D-GG, 32-38 C-GG & XS-XL; Twist Bandeau Bikini also available in 30-36 C-G) ; Freya Swim Club Tropicana High Neck Crop Top in Midnight (pictures 2-3; 28 D-F, 30-36 D-FF, 38 D-F) ; Freya Swim Club Tropicana Convertible Banded Halter Bikini and Brief in Midnight (picture 2; 28 D-G, 30-36 D-J, 38 D-G & XS-XXL; Padded Bandeau Bikini also available in 30-36 B-G)
There are various colourful, tropical-inspired pieces, starting with the Party Animal and Club Tropicana. I really like the look of the Club Tropicana style – I think the vibrant rainbow tropical flowers overlaid on the minimal navy/white base is a really fun and eyecatching combination.
Freya Swim Wilderness Plunge Bikini and Brief in Tropic (28 D-GG, 30-36 D-H, 38 D-GG; Padded Halter Bikini also available in 28-38 D-G) ; Freya Swim Glam Rock Padded Halter Suit in Olive (30-38 C-FF) ; Freya Swim Glam Rock Sweetheart Padded Bikini and High Waist Brief in Olive (30-36 D-H, 38 D-G & XS-XXL; Halter Bikini also available in 30-34 C-FF, 36 C-F, 38 C-E)
We see shades of green in the Wilderness and Glam Rock styles. The Wilderness continues the tropical theme, featuring a vibrant jungle print in shades of yellow, green and orange, while the Glam Rock is more of a minimal piece, featuring subtle gold stripes over an army green base.
Freya Swim Deco Swim Moulded Multiway Bandeau in Black (picture 1; 28 D-G, 30-36 D-GG, 38 D-G; Moulded Bikini and Tankini also available in sizes 28-30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, 38 B-G) ; Freya Swim Sundance Padded Tankini in Black (picture 2, left; 30-36 D-GG, 38 D-G) ; Freya Swim Sundance High Neck Cutout Suit in White (picture 2, right; 30-36 D-FF; High Neck Crop Top also available in 28 D-F, 30-36 D-FF, 38 D-F) ; Freya Swim Sundance Sweetheart Padded Bikini and Brief in Black and White (picture 3; 30-36 D-HH, 38 D-G; Halter Bikini also available in 30-34 C-FF, 36 C-F, 38 C-E) ; Freya Swim Sundance Skirted Brief in Black (picture 4; XS-XXL)
Black and white shades are as popular as ever, starting with the Deco Swim and Sundance styles. The multiway Deco Swim bikini is one of my favourite styles, and one I so wish came in my size – I love the versatility of it, and I love the retro-esque look of it when worn as a halterneck (with the straps overlaying the cups). The Sundance is a new continuity style, featuring a crochet fabric in shades of black and white.
Freya Swim Folklore Bandeau Bikini and Brief in Multi (picture 1, left; 30-36 B-G & XS-XL; Sweetheart Padded Bikini also available in 30-36 D-HH, 38 D-G) ; Freya Frenzy Convertible Banded Halter Bikini and Tanga Brief in Monochrome (picture 1, right; 28 D-G, 30-36 & XS-XL; Triangle Bikini also available in 30-36 C-F, 38 C-DD) ; Freya Swim Sports Luxe Non Padded Crop Top in Monochrome (pictures 2-3; 30-36 D-GG, 38 D-G; Padded Bandeau also available in 30-36 C-G) ; Freya Swim Sports Luxe Underwired High Neck Suit in Monochrome (pictures 3-4; 30-38 C-FF)
There are also some less basic black and white styles in the geometric Frenzy and the polka-dotty Sports Luxe, while the Folklore is very similar to the Frenzy, but instead featuring a vibrant blue colour scheme. I really love the Sports Luxe! The contrast of the polka dots against the clean lines and panels, the monochrome colours, the zip detailing down the centre – I think this is a really stunning style!
Freya Swim Moulded Bikini Top (left; 28-30 D-GG, 32-36 C-GG, 38 C-G), Soft Triangle Bikini (right; 30-36 C-F, 38 C-DD) and Hipster Brief (XS-XL) in Marine ; Freya Swim High Neck Suit in Marine (30-38 C-FF; Moulded Tankini also available in 28-30 D-G, 32-36 C-GG, 38 C-G)
Finally, In The Navy, a minimal style which seems to be a basic version of the Club Tropicana shown earlier. I love the simplicity of this design, and navy/sailor-inspired pieces are always a winner in my book, so I’m definitely a fan of this!
So, that’s the full collection – whew! Overall, I was actually really surprised to find that…I love this collection! So often I visit the Wacoal Eveden stand and while there are always some lovely pieces, I don’t tend to feel wowed or excited when all is said and done. However, I really do think that this collection is fantastic, and this actually has to be my favourite collection from Freya so far (at least of the ones I’ve seen!). Something Freya always do well is creating a cohesive collection with strong core colours, and I think that they have again done this remarkably well, with some outstanding colour choices throughout. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing whether they keep this up into next season!
What do you think of the Freya AW16 collection? Do you like their current direction? Any favourite pieces? Any not-so-favourite pieces? Let me know any thoughts in the comments below, and be sure to check back later for the rest of the Wacoal Eveden brands!

Wait, am I imagining things or is there a distinct lack of pink? Wow, Freya actually peaked my interest!
Definitely a lack of pink! I’m not usually overly enthused about Freya’s collections, but I think this one is definitely one of my favourites so far!
I’m actually legit excited for the Pulse and will quite possibly buy it when it comes out… The only other thing I’ve ever bought from Freya was an ill-fated Deco Honey that my boobs swiftly grew out of.
I like that Freya seem to be trying more new things with this collection (as opposed to previous collections, where nearly half the bras were Decos). Honestly I thought they were moving towards being a D-G brand, but I’m happy to be proven wrong – and especially happy that they listened to complaints from GG+ customers about the Arabella.
I really like the Pulse, too! The rep I spoke to said that much better sheer fabrics have been developed since the Arabella years, allowing them to make lovely sheer pieces like these. And I agree – I’m really glad to see plenty of styles that aren’t Decos! I think it was SS15 that had like 10 different Decos. I much prefer a bit of variation!
Fancies, both the lime version and the longline chili red look aaaawesome!
Loved that floral bikini as well! <3

So pleased about the bra-sized Fancies options! I wish they had the full D-K size range but what can you do!
I’m so excited about a green Deco Vibe, even if I’m not thrilled by the trim. Thanks for these posts, I always look forward to them. Even though I’m a little late on this one; I don’t know how I missed it.
