Last year, the gaming community exploded with the news that the much-loved Fallout series would be receiving a new sequel. I’ve been thinking about doing a series of Fallout inspired lingerie for a while now, and with the first DLC release coming up, it seemed like the perfect time!
So, first up, Vault Boy! Vault Boy is an iconic mascot for the Fallout franchise, usually shown wearing the standard-issue vault jumpsuit in shades of bright blue and yellow.
As many of you will know, a few days ago, the legendary musician David Bowie passed away. Bowie was an incredible songwriter, a pioneer of glam rock, and a master of reinvention, and due to my dad’s love for him, Bowie’s music made up the soundtrack to my childhood. Many tributes to him have been appearing since his death was announced, and I felt I should contribute in one of the only ways I know: lingerie. So, today I am sharing my picks for lingerie inspired by some of David Bowie’s iconic characters and personas.
First up, possibly Bowie’s most famous persona, Ziggy Stardust! Ziggy’s style was flamboyant, eyegrabbing and androgynous, with his outfits composed mainly of skin tight jumpsuits combined with flowing sleeves, geometric patterns, asymmetric cut outs and fantastical make-up.
I’ve recently been watching a lot of Steven Universe, and a dear friend and I got to discussing the Crystal Gems’ individual styles. I thought it could be fun to put together some sets of lingerie inspired by the Crystal Gems, and as my friend (Lorna) is an illustrator, she thought it would be fun to do her own lingerie designs and illustrate the Crystal Gems in them. So, we decided to collaborate!
Let’s start with Pearl! Pearl’s style is elegant, floaty and ballerina-esque, using shades of duck egg blue, peachy pink, apple green and sunny yellow.
A while back, I made a post re-making the Avengers outfits with lingerie. When Guardians of the Galaxy came out, I knew I would have to do something similar! So, if (for some reason) the Guardians of the Galaxy all wore lingerie, what would they wear?
Let’s start with my favourite member of the group, Gamora! Gamora’s aesthetic is kind of bondage meets biker chick meets warrior woman, which is so incredibly fun to recreate with lingerie.
A few days ago, the lovely Weirdly Shaped and Well Photographed wrote a post combating body snark in the bra-fitting world, with viewpoints from the various Bravengers. Most of the brilliance is of course Miss Shapen’s, but I also got the chance to join in, dress up in lingerie and pretend to be a superhero. There are some great pictures and a great message, so make sure you check out her post here! I had a lot of fun making superhero costumes solely out of lingerie, so I started thinking: If the Avengers were all women, and for some reason, exclusively wore lingerie, what would they wear?
So, let’s start with Iron Man! Iron Man is a total show off, and despite the seeming simplicity of his suit’s design, the whole thing gives off a vibe of sleek grandeur.
