Today’s Moda preview will be the second of the LF Intimates brands, Charnos! Charnos tends to be aimed at a slightly more mature audience than the youth-focused Lepel, aiming to provide more pieces with a little more luxury and sophistication. The Charnos SS16 collection is small-but-sweet, primarily featuring shades of blue and ivory.
First up is this utterly decadent new style, the Bailey in Blue. This is a padded plunge in lovely tones of subdued blue and soft ivory, featuring scallop-trim lace and tiny tassel details, with sophisticated ivory and blue pottery-esque fabric forming the band and briefs. Available in 32 C-G, 34-38 B-G.
This bold bluebell tone features strongly in this collection, as shown in the Sienna (picture 1; 30 D-J, 32-38 B-J, 40 D-F) and Violet (picture 2; 32 C-J, 34-38 B-J). The Sienna is a long-established classic full-cup cut, featuring a laminate cup, a side-support panel and a non-stretch upper. In comparison, the Violet is a fairly new (SS15) style, featuring a lower cup, softer fabrics, and stretch lace panels – I’m definitely hoping to try this out soon! I do personally prefer the AW15 colourway for the Violet, but I’m sure many people will prefer this one, and I’m glad to see it back at any rate!
The Sienna has previously only been available in block colourways, but for this season Charnos are also introducing the Sienna Print. For SS16, this will feature a bold, darkly lined print of bluebells and daffodils against contrasting ivory detailing. This is definitely one of the younger pieces I’ve seen from Charnos, and I’m intrigued to see how it’ll be received! As with the Sienna, this will be available in 30 D-J, 32-38 B-J, 40 D-F.
This is a neutral colourway for the Gabrielle, which has just been released for AW15 in Black/Pink. I love the simplicity and elegance of this ivory colourway. Available in 30-38 C-J.
The Suzette was intended for AW15, but it was delayed to tweak the fit and shape slightly, so this will be released closer to SS16. This comes in Ivory (shown) and Scarlet, in sizes 30 D-J, 32-38 B-J.
The last new style for this season is the Colette. This appears to have similar construction to the Sienna, but with a stiff lace upper and decorative ribbon detailing going through the upper cup. Available in 30 D-J, 32-38 B-J.
Finally, my favourite piece of the collection had to be this new Pewter colourway for the old classic, Cherub. This deeper grey tone is smooth, rich and classic, and there’s something so effortlessly elegant about it! Available in 32 C-G, 34-38 B-G, 40 C-F.
Overall, there are some really lovely pieces here! I really, really love the Bailey and the pewter Cherub, so I’m a little gutted that those are pretty much the only pieces that don’t come close to my size! I’m sad to see no new colourway for AW15’s Cecile (which I am absolutely dying to try), but I’m pleased to see there are still plenty of J-cup choices, a choice I’m really hoping will work out for Charnos!
What do you think of the collection? Are you a Charnos fan? Have you tried out any of their H+ styles? Let me know any thoughts in the comments below!
