Reinventing the Classics with Gossard

Editor’s note: Today’s review will be of the Gossard “Gypsy” set. While I understand that this set is a remake of a set made in the 1980s and is named as such, it would be extremely ignorant of me not to point out that G**** is a racial slur, still used against Rromani people today. It is not a synonym for bohemian, free spirit, hippie or anything like that, and to use it as a bra name is very trivialising of the Rromani experience. For this reason, the bra will be simply referred to as “G” throughout this review.

As you may know I recently received the Gossard Desire set (which I previously reviewed here), and I surprisingly received a second set, which was the Gossard G Non Padded Bra in Caramel with the matching Deep Short. The G is one of Gossard‘s iconic styles, originally introduced in the 80’s as the bra that “made men faint”. It’s been out of production for a while, but a few months ago, the style was modernised and re-released as a non-padded bra, padded bra and basque, in two continuity colourways of black and caramel.

Gossard Gypsy Unpadded Bra and Deep Brief in Caramel - 30F, XS (3)

My usual size is a 28G, but as always Gossard’s bands start at 30, and as I had heard this particular bra runs a little big, I decided to try out a 30F with XS briefs. Usually, the type of bras I go for are padded plunge sets (as I have quite close-set breasts I find the low gores work best for me) – but I unexpectedly love this non-padded bra! Mesmerised by Masquerade

Masquerade (also known as Harlequin) was the luxury brand of the Panache family, providing slightly more sultry, sexy and sophisticated options in sizes 28-38 D-H. Masquerade has since been rebranded as Panache Black and the available styles have been completely changed, but many of the older Masquerade styles are still floating around if you look for them. Obviously, with my usual Panache size of 30JJ, I’m a fair way out of Masquerade’s size range, but I had to know what I was missing out on. So, I decided to try out a couple of pieces in a 34H.

Panache Masquerade Persia Black 34H Full

The first style I tried was the Masquerade Persia in Black, matched here with some high waisted briefs by Starline Lingerie. As the highest cup size available was an H, and Masquerade were often said to run firm in the band, I decided that a 34H (sister size to a 30J) might be my best shot for something wearable. Perfection in Panache Floris

The Panache Floris was introduced a few seasons ago, and while I own many colourways and would describe it as one of my favourite bras, I haven’t yet gotten round to reviewing it! However, the Floris has been released for this season in an absolutely breathtaking Aurora colourway, and when Panache asked if there was anything I’d like to review from them, I knew exactly what it would have to be.

Panache Floris in Aurora - 30JJ, 14

I would consider my usual size to be a 30K (70K in Ewa Michalak, 30JJ/32J in padded Curvy Kate), but I usually take a 30JJ in Panache, so this is a 30JJ with size 14 briefs. Continue reading

Review of the Coquette Powernet Bustier (14-16)

Today’s review is going to be something a little different! I was recently contacted by Sexcite, a newly established online adult retailer, asking if I would be interested in reviewing something from their lingerie department. At first I was skeptical – sexy lingerie is often not to my tastes, and finding something that fits my 30K bust well can be a real challenge. However, looking through their collections, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a wide range of pieces, with quite a few that really appealed to me!

Coquette Powernet Bustier Black 14-16

After some umming and ahhing, I eventually settled on the Coquette Powernet Bustier. I hadn’t tried anything from Coquette Lingerie before, but a quick google search suggested that this style was generous in the bust, and I was pleased to find that this was the case! Continue reading

Glittering in Gwiezdny Pył

A while back now, Ewa Michalak released the BM cut, an unpadded style featuring a stretch lace upper – a construction which I am always a huge fan of! So, of course, I had to try it out for myself. One style I was particularly lusting after was the BM Gwiezdny Pył, so I was overjoyed when one reader very kindly bought it off my wishlist. Here’s how I found it!

Ewa Michalak BM Gwiezdny Pyl 70JJ Full

My usual size in the S and SM styles is 70K (32K), but due to the stretch lace upper, I decided to try this in a slightly smaller size of 70JJ (32JJ), with the size 42 (14) thong. Continue reading
