Those of you who have been readers for a long time might remember my love for Curvy Kate’s Showgirl collections – particularly the Tease Me and Thrill Me styles! Unfortunately, these styles only went to a 30J and sister sizes, and as a 30JJ/K, they were always a bit too small (not that that ever stopped me!). Luckily for me, not too long ago, the Tease Me was reinvented and re-released as the Curvy Kate Tease, in a new-and-improved size range of 28-38 D-J.
I usually wear a 30K in Curvy Kate’s unpadded bras, however, since this size isn’t available, I decided to try it out in a 32J with size 14 briefs. I’m also wearing the set here with my Lovehoney Flaunt Me robe (reviewed here) – I think the scalloped lace trims match this set perfectly! Continue reading →
Back in June, I reviewed all of the unpadded Curvy Kate sets I owned, and I also mentioned that I had bought the Thrill Me in Jade/Fuschia in a 30J, which fit more like a 30HH/32H. Well…that was a bit of a slippery slope. I’ve since bought more sets and, since I took lots of pictures for my SIAB entry, I thought I’d share a few.
The Jade/Fuschia in a 30J, size 14 shorts. The set that sparked my love for this set, in all of its ruffley, jewel-bright, two-cups-too-small glory…sigh. Continue reading →
Curvy Kate recently released the Smoothie, a moulded plunge bra up to a J cup (though only in two band sizes). Though I usually wear a 30JJ in most brands (and often a 30K in Curvy Kate), early reviews suggested it came large in the cups. This, combined with the natural curiosity of a large-cupped moulded bra, meant that I had no choice but to try it in a 30J!
Apologies for the very yellow photos! I honestly could not be more surprised by the fit. I have always had to size up in the cups in CK, and I’ve never gotten the best profile, but the Smoothie is something completely different. If I didn’t know any better, I would think it was made by a different brand! Though it is loose in the band (stretching to 32 inches), I have also found it to be large in the cups, fitting perhaps more like a “standard” 32J on me. Continue reading →
Curvy Kate is an amazing brand I’ve admired for a long time. Their body positive nature, their use of everyday women as models, and their dedication to making beautiful, girly lingerie for the fuller-busted woman – a lot of brands could learn from them. So today, I thought I would write about a few of my experiences with their lingerie…
The first Curvy Kate set I’ve owned is the Angel in Black/Ivory in a 28K with size 10 shorts, which I won in a Brastop competition. The set is also available with a thong brief instead of shorts, and a (gorgeous!) suspender belt. Continue reading →
