Review of the Panache Olivia in Deep Jade (30JJ, 14)

The Panache Olivia is a style I have longed for ever since I saw it at Moda back in August 2014. I was hugely tempted by the SS15 colourway of Apricot, and when I saw AW15’s colourway of Deep Jade, I knew I had to try it out. I had a bit of trouble locating my size from nearby stockists, but luckily for me, the lovely folks over at Panache offered to send it to me!

Panache Olivia in Deep Jade - size 30JJ, 14

This is the Panache Olivia in Deep Jade, size 30JJ bra and 14 brief. Unlike many other sets, the Olivia only has one option for briefs, which is unfortunate if you’re more of a thong or short person. However, personally, I adore high-waisted briefs, so I’m pretty happy! Continue reading

Reinventing the Classics with Gossard

Editor’s note: Today’s review will be of the Gossard “Gypsy” set. While I understand that this set is a remake of a set made in the 1980s and is named as such, it would be extremely ignorant of me not to point out that G**** is a racial slur, still used against Rromani people today. It is not a synonym for bohemian, free spirit, hippie or anything like that, and to use it as a bra name is very trivialising of the Rromani experience. For this reason, the bra will be simply referred to as “G” throughout this review.

As you may know I recently received the Gossard Desire set (which I previously reviewed here), and I surprisingly received a second set, which was the Gossard G Non Padded Bra in Caramel with the matching Deep Short. The G is one of Gossard‘s iconic styles, originally introduced in the 80’s as the bra that “made men faint”. It’s been out of production for a while, but a few months ago, the style was modernised and re-released as a non-padded bra, padded bra and basque, in two continuity colourways of black and caramel.

Gossard Gypsy Unpadded Bra and Deep Brief in Caramel - 30F, XS (3)

My usual size is a 28G, but as always Gossard’s bands start at 30, and as I had heard this particular bra runs a little big, I decided to try out a 30F with XS briefs. Usually, the type of bras I go for are padded plunge sets (as I have quite close-set breasts I find the low gores work best for me) – but I unexpectedly love this non-padded bra! Decadence in Gossard Desire

Today’s post is going to be something of a first! When Gossard kindly sent me the Iris set to review, they also offered to send across the Desire collection, an absolutely beautiful style which has been on my mind ever since I saw it at Moda back in February. However, as the bra is not available in my size, Rachael and I decided that today, we would review the collection together.

Gossard VIP Desire Body, Longline Bustier and Deep Suspender - Sizes 30F, XS, L (1)

The line includes a longline plunge bra, a high-waisted suspender brief, a brazilian suspender brief, and an unbelievably stunning sheer bodysuit. Let’s start with Rachael’s review! Continue reading

Review of the Ewa Michalak BM Miętusek

A few months ago, I tried out and reviewed the BM Gwiezdny Pył by Ewa Michalak in a 70JJ. However, not long after I bought it, the BM Miętusek was released, and (surprise surprise) I fell in love all over again! Given that I found the Gwiezdny Pył still had a little room in the cups, and knowing that black colourways frequently run smaller than lighter colourways, I decided the try out the Miętusek in a 70J.

The pastel colours of the Miętusek are reminiscent of ice cream, macarons and candy floss. The mint colour is light and fresh, and the baby pink bow on the gore adds just the perfect touch! Since I wasn’t 100% sure that the bra was going to fit me, I decided not to order the matching briefs, so I’m wearing the bra here with a pair of F&F brazilian briefs (which I think match quite well!). Luckily for me, this size fits beautifully. Continue reading

Mesmerised by Masquerade

Masquerade (also known as Harlequin) was the luxury brand of the Panache family, providing slightly more sultry, sexy and sophisticated options in sizes 28-38 D-H. Masquerade has since been rebranded as Panache Black and the available styles have been completely changed, but many of the older Masquerade styles are still floating around if you look for them. Obviously, with my usual Panache size of 30JJ, I’m a fair way out of Masquerade’s size range, but I had to know what I was missing out on. So, I decided to try out a couple of pieces in a 34H.

Panache Masquerade Persia Black 34H Full

The first style I tried was the Masquerade Persia in Black, matched here with some high waisted briefs by Starline Lingerie. As the highest cup size available was an H, and Masquerade were often said to run firm in the band, I decided that a 34H (sister size to a 30J) might be my best shot for something wearable.
