My last Ewa Michalak review was of the S Wiśniówka over a year ago, and while I adored the bra and found it both stunning and supportive, my boobs grew and I stopped fitting into it seemingly immediately. While I have longed for more EMs ever since then, not knowing which size I’d need, the possibility of size inconsistencies, and the price of custom ordering kept putting me off. That is, until I saw some of the amazing styles that had been released, and last year’s SM Burek on sale. So, taking a risk, I ordered two bras in a 70K.
This is the absolutely stunning SM Burek. I have been in love with this bra ever since I first saw it, and looking at these pictures, I don’t think it’s hard to explain why! Larger-cupped versions of bras can easily end up losing their delicate appearance, but this bra manages to stay beautifully sweet and romantic in every size. Continue reading →
Back in July, I went down to London for the weekend. While I was there, there was one place I knew I had to visit: Bravissimo! Bravissimo stock a huge range of styles and sizes, and their fitting service is regarded as one of the best in the UK. So, when I had some time, I headed down to Covent Garden to get fitted and try on some different styles.
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the bras I tried while looking for my size in Curvy Kate Gia (full post here). While I didn’t keep any of them, trying them made me more confident about the size I would need. So, when I saw AW13’s Purple/Black colourway on sale at Brastop a couple of months ago, I decided to give her another chance.
As before, I went for the 30K, and I am pleased to say that the Purple/Black colourway was everything I expected and more. Continue reading →
Curvy Kate are a fairly young brand in the full-bust world, but they are constantly coming out with new styles and revamping the older ones. The Gia is a style that was introduced in Autumn 2012, and I’ve been eyeing it since. However, at the start of my bra-fitting journey, I had found that I did not get along with many of Curvy Kate’s earlier styles, and with plenty of other bras that fit me at a 30JJ, I saw no reason to take a risk…until I went up to a 30K/KK about a year ago, and suddenly found that my options became much more limited. So, seeing it on sale in August last year, I decided to try out both the Seafoam and Cherry/Blush colourways. This is mostly a quick comparison of the bras I tried while looking for a good fit, so won’t be quite as detailed as my usual reviews.
When I was contacted about reviewing one of Gossard’s sets, I received the Gossard Summer Plunge set (which I previously reviewed here), and I also surprisingly received a second set, which was the Gossard Retrolution Half-Padded Bra in Black with matching briefs (part of their ‘VIP Lingerie’ range). I usually wear a 28G, but as Gossard start at a 30 band, I decided to try out a 30FF with XS briefs. When I took my first look at this set I wasn’t too sure about it, but I swiftly changed my mind. As someone who has a relatively accessible cup size I find the majority of bras in my size range give a fairly rounded shape, which was my main reason for doubting this bra – the ‘Retrolution Half-Padded Bra’ is pointy.
At first I was a little uncomfortable at the thought of a pointy bra, but upon trying it on my opinion slowly changed. While looking in the mirror I felt like a gorgeous vintage model and I just wanted to pin curl my hair, dance around to swing jazz and apply my favourite red lipstick! Continue reading →
